MACHINE HEAD To Produce Themselves On Upcoming CD

Despite published reports suggesting that MACHINE HEAD would work with British producer Russ Russell on their new, as-yet-untitled album, the band are believed to be contemplating tackling the production duties themselves when they begin recording in the San Francisco Bay Area later this month.

The follow-up to 2001's "Supercharger" will be mixed by Colin Richardson, the man largely responsible for the crushingly thick sound on the band's first two offerings, 1994's "Burn My Eyes" and 1997's "The More Things Change…"

Richardson, who has previously worked with FEAR FACTORY, NAPALM DEATH and OVERKILL, among others, was originally tapped to produce the forthcoming effort, but scheduling conflicts have reportedly prevented him working with the group during the tracking process, which will last about a month.

An official press release from MACHINE HEAD regarding their imminent recording plans is expected in the coming days.
